New ideas rattling around in my brain

Every once in a while I go through a phase where I rethink everything that I'm making.  Looking at what I like, what I don't like, what doesn't work as well as I would like to see, and drooling over new tools. What can I say, I'm a guy.  We never get tired of drooling over new tools/toys.  I know, I know.  I can hear wives/girlfriends already saying that they can never get their husbands/boyfriends to go shopping.  Y'all just aren't taking us to the right places.  You want to see some power shopping? Take us to Rockler or Home Depot.  You can watch us spend 20 minutes just looking at router bits.  Or take us to something like the Tanner Gun Show, just wear comfortable shoes. We're going to be there a while. And if you're lucky we might even come home with a nice addition to the home protection system or something to fill that home with meat! While I'm already down this rabbit track, if my wife is reading this that suppressed shot gun I was pointing out the other day would still make a wonderful anniversary, birthday, or Christmas gift.  Really, it would.  Hint, hint.  Tell me you love me and feel free to say it with firearms.

What was I talking about again? Oh yeah, rethinking current designs and brainstorming new ones.  So if you've been following me on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/Rdesigns.co), you've already seen the post about rethinking my jewelry box design.  I wasn't just saying that because the boxes I was working on were driving my insane that day.  They were, don't get me wrong and they have since been cut apart and are sitting in a pile on my workbench waiting to be rebuilt.  It's just time to tweek them a bit.  So my large jewelry boxes will be undergoing a couple of changes in the next few weeks.  Also thinking that I want to expand the range of boxes.  I'm thinking I'll be adding some smaller boxes, so in the next couple of months you can look forward to seeing what springs to mind in that direction.  It will be kind of like doodling with a table saw and router.  Along the whole expanding the range of boxes, I'm thinking of making some that are taller and perhaps a little more narrow.  That way there would be a bit smaller footprint and perhaps something like a brass necklace carousel.  Any ideas of what you would like to see or comments about what you like or dislike in a jewelry box would be welcome.

I've also spent the last couple of days brainstorming new clock ideas.  Yesterday, the biggest problem is that I kept coming up with mantel clock ideas and that's not really the direction I want to expand in this year.  Luckily the mental damn burst open today (you can tell from the number of half filled pages of moderately incoherent notes that will hopefully make sense to me next month).  So those will be interesting, I'm already looking forward to starting them.
